A screen recording can show anything that was open. So Sopycat is built to need nothing but your PC, and to tell you plainly whenever something would leave it.
Made on your PC
Recording, finding the steps, reading the screen, taking the pictures, blurring, writing in the standard mode, and every PDF tool all run on your computer.
Ordinary files you own
Your manuals, documents and settings are plain files in a folder you choose. We have no copy of them and no way to see them.
No account to sign in to
There is no Sopycat login for the app, so there is no cloud workspace to breach and nothing to leak.
The only times anything leaves your PC
Each of these is listed in full, with exactly what is sent.

With Blur personal details in the pictures automatically on, pictures are blurred before an online writer ever sees them, not after.
Protection that does not depend on remembering
Regulated-office mode
- One switch in Settings for offices that must guarantee where data goes
- Turns off both online writing modes
- Turns off sharing a manual as a web page
- Holds updates until the office decides, for everyone using that copy
Redaction with a check
- The words and picture data under each box are removed from the file
- The page is read again to confirm they are gone
- Anything the check cannot clear is flattened, or not saved at all

Your files, your backups
Sopycat backs up the library every week on its own and keeps the last four. Deleted manuals and documents wait in Recently deleted for 30 days, and every save of a manual or PDF keeps the earlier version.
This website
No analytics and no trackers, and the fonts are served from here rather than from a font service. Our host keeps ordinary server logs. Payments go through our payment provider, and we never see your card number. Read the privacy policy.
